Draft — pending legal review. This document is not final. Items shown like [THIS] must be filled in, and the whole text should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before BindTrue starts charging for subscriptions.
The short version
BindTrue gives you a personal gym plan, a workout tracker and nutrition guidance. It is not medical advice. Check with a doctor before you start, and stop if something hurts.
Plans can be generated by AI. AI can be wrong — use common sense and your own judgment.
New accounts get a 30-day free trial with no card. After that, BindTrue costs $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
During the beta, BindTrue is free for people who bring friends: after your first days (currently 7), you need a few friends (currently 2) who signed up with your invite link and trained once. This rule may change or end at any time (see 4.12).
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the app: Profile → Subscription → Manage subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
In challenges, post only photos and videos of yourself that you are fine with the group seeing. No nudity and no people who have not agreed to it. Photos and videos are for people 18 and older, and an automatic check looks at each one first. Members see the public name you choose, not your sign-in name; in public challenges that is the people in your league. The person who started a challenge can hide entries and remove people; members can report entries to us, and we remove what breaks the rules. Stakes, points and badges are for fun: no money changes hands. A prize someone offers in their challenge is theirs to give: BindTrue doesn’t provide or guarantee it, and nobody pays anything to take part.
You can build your own programs, keep them private, share them by link or publish them for everyone. They stay yours, but sharing lets BindTrue show them (with your public name) and lets others start them. Programs are checked automatically before they are listed publicly; people can report them. Programs made by other users are not medical advice either (see Programs).
The Feed is optional to use: your public profile shows your public name, a handle and a short bio, and your finished workouts post to your feed for the people you choose (everyone, your followers or only you). Anyone can follow you; you can remove followers and block people. Be kind in comments: we check them automatically, hide what looks harmful until we review it, and remove what breaks the rules (see Profiles, feed and comments).
Ideas you post on the ideas board are seen by everyone signed in, with your public name. They are free feedback we may use, and votes are not promises. Help answers come from AI and never decide about payments, refunds or your account: the owner does, through Contact support.
Keep your PIN secret. Anyone with your name and PIN can open your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to use BindTrue.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“BindTrue”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of the BindTrue app and website at bindtrue.com and any related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. We ask you to confirm that you are 16 or older when you create an account (or before your first challenge, if your account was created before we asked), and you must not confirm it if it is not true. Photo and video proofs in challenges are only for people 18 and older, and the same applies to confirming that you are 18 or older. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these Terms with you and must agree to any paid subscription.
2. The service
BindTrue helps regular gym-goers train with a plan. Depending on the features available at the time, the Service includes:
a short questionnaire (for example sex, age, height, weight, goal, experience, equipment and limitations);
training plans — generated by AI, built by simple rules, or picked from a library of programs, including intense “movie-star” style programs;
a workout tracker for sets, weights and reps, exercise illustrations and technique tips;
nutrition estimates (calories, protein, water), food guidance and general supplement information;
progress tools such as a journal, body measurements and charts;
challenges with friends or coworkers: a shared daily goal with a leaderboard (optionally in teams), where members can add photos or short videos as proof;
public challenges: official BindTrue challenges you can start any day and a new challenge every week, where you compete in a small league of people at your level against your own daily goals, and badges and points for streaks, completed challenges and league medals.
We are constantly improving BindTrue, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we remove a core feature you are paying for, we will tell you and you may cancel (see section 4).
3. Your account and PIN
You sign up with a display name and a 4–6 digit PIN. Choose a PIN you do not use anywhere else and never share it. Anyone who knows your name and PIN can open your account.
We store only a one-way, salted hash of your PIN — we cannot see it or send it to you. Because we do not collect an email address or phone number at sign-up, we may not be able to restore access if you forget your PIN. You can change your PIN in Profile while signed in.
After several wrong PIN attempts the account is temporarily locked to protect it.
You are responsible for activity in your account. Tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you believe someone else has used it.
Pick a display name that is not offensive, misleading or someone else’s identity. We may change or remove names that break these Terms.
One person per account. Do not share, sell or transfer your account.
4. Free trial, subscriptions and billing
4.1 Free beta
While BindTrue is in public beta, the Service is free and no payment method is accepted. During the beta, free use depends on inviting friends (see 4.12). Before paid subscriptions start, we will announce it in the app. Everyone who is on a free trial when paid plans launch will still get at least 30 free days from that moment.
4.2 Free trial
New accounts get a free trial of 30 days. No payment card is needed to start it. When the trial ends, the paid features (training, tracking and AI features) require a subscription; your data stays saved. One free trial per person — creating extra accounts to get more trials is not allowed.
4.3 Plans and prices
Monthly
US $9.99 per month
Yearly
US $59.99 per year
Prices are in US dollars and may not include taxes, which are added where required. The price and billing period shown on the checkout page at the time you subscribe are the ones that apply.
4.4 Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (every month or every year) at the then-current price, and you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel.
If you subscribe while you still have free trial days left, you will not be charged until your free trial ends. The checkout page shows the date of your first charge.
4.5 How to cancel
You can cancel online at any time — you do not need to call or write to us:
Open BindTrue and tap your name or avatar to open Profile.
Tap Subscription, then Manage subscription.
Choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep full access until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again. If you cancel during a free trial, you will not be charged at all. You can also ask us to cancel for you at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
4.6 Receipts and reminders
Stripe emails a receipt for every payment to the email address you give at checkout. For yearly plans, we will send a reminder to that email address before each renewal, with the price and how to cancel.
4.7 Refunds
We want billing to feel fair, similar to how the major app stores handle it:
Forgot to cancel? If you contact us within 14 days after a charge (your first charge or a renewal) and you have not really used the paid features since that charge, we will refund it.
Billing mistakes (for example a duplicate charge) are always refunded.
Otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not give refunds for partly used periods, except where the law requires it. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.
To ask for a refund, email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with your BindTrue display name and the date of the charge.
4.8 Failed payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and you can update your card in Profile → Subscription. Your access continues for a 3-day grace period; after that, paid features pause until the payment goes through. If payment is still not possible after the retries, the subscription may be canceled.
4.9 Price changes
We may change our prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and the new price will only apply from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it applies.
4.10 Promotions
Promo codes and special offers are subject to the conditions shown with them, have no cash value and cannot be combined unless we say so.
4.11 Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by BindTrue. Your payment is also subject to Stripe’s terms and privacy policy.
4.12 Free with friends (beta)
Every account has a personal invite link. A friend counts when they create an account with your link and train once: they log a workout, or one of their challenge entries counts. A friend who deletes their account no longer counts. The app shows how many friends you have and how many you need.
During the beta, after a short period from sign-up (currently 7 days), logging workouts, changing your plan, workout reminders and the AI features need a small number of such friends (currently 2). Until you have them, you can still see your plan and history, change your answers and the app’s settings, turn reminders off, sign out and delete your account, and nothing you saved is lost.
Accounts created before this rule started, and accounts we give complimentary access, do not need friends.
When paid plans start, friends who joined this way give access without a subscription only if we decide to switch that on; the app shows it when it applies. Otherwise paid plans work as described above.
This is how the beta works for now. We may change the numbers or end the rule at any time; it is not a promise of free use for any period. Creating accounts for yourself or fake people to meet it is not allowed.
5. Health and fitness disclaimer
BindTrue is a general fitness tool, not a medical service. Nothing in the Service is medical, physiotherapy, nutrition or dietary advice, and it does not replace a doctor, physical therapist, registered dietitian or certified personal trainer who can see you in person.
Talk to a doctor first before you start a new exercise, diet or supplement program — especially if you have a heart, blood pressure, joint, back or other health condition, an injury, if you are pregnant or recently gave birth, if you take medication, or if you have not exercised in a long time.
Stop immediately and get medical help if you feel chest pain, pressure, dizziness, faintness, unusual shortness of breath, or sharp or worsening pain.
You set the intensity. Warm up, use correct technique, choose weights you can control, use safety equipment and a spotter for heavy lifts, and follow your gym’s rules. Our weights, reps and progressions are suggestions, not instructions you must follow.
Intense programs are demanding. “Movie-star” style programs describe the kind of high-volume training actors are publicly reported to use to prepare for roles. They are not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any actor, film or studio. People who train like this usually also have professional coaches, dietitians and medical support. Results depend on many things — genetics, sleep, nutrition, consistency and health — and we do not guarantee any particular result.
Nutrition and supplements. Calorie, protein and water numbers are estimates from standard formulas. Supplement information is general education only; check with a doctor or pharmacist before taking any supplement, especially with medication, during pregnancy or with a health condition.
Assumption of risk
Exercise carries a risk of injury, including serious injury, and in rare cases death. By using the Service you confirm that you take part in any physical activity voluntarily and at your own risk, and — to the fullest extent permitted by law — you accept responsibility for deciding whether an exercise, program or intensity is right for you.
6. AI-generated content
Some plans, adjustments and other content are created by artificial intelligence models (run on Cloudflare Workers AI, or on OpenAI or xAI when we switch AI requests to them; see the Privacy Policy). We check AI plans against our exercise catalog and safety rules, but AI output can still be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive or not suitable for you.
Review every plan before you follow it, and skip or change anything that does not feel right for your body, injuries or experience.
AI content is not professional advice and is not reviewed by a human before you see it. This includes the answers in Help and the summaries and sorting on the ideas board (see Ideas and Help).
Please do not type information into free-text fields (such as “injuries or limits” or “what you want to achieve”) that you would not want processed to create your plan. See our Privacy Policy for how this works.
You may not use AI features to create content that is illegal, harmful or unrelated to fitness, or try to make them behave in ways they were not designed for.
AI voice. The voice coach in workout mode uses AI-generated voices (OpenAI text-to-speech) reading a fixed list of phrases we wrote. They are not real people and do not imitate anyone. Its counts, tempo and countdowns are a guide, not instructions you must keep up with: move at a pace that is safe for you, and stop if something hurts.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
break any law or anyone else’s rights while using the Service;
access or collect data from the Service with bots, scrapers or other automated tools, or overload it;
try to get around security, rate limits, paywalls, free-trial limits, the invite rule or account locks (for example with extra or fake accounts), or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission (we welcome responsible reports at [SUPPORT EMAIL]);
copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the Service, except where the law does not allow us to forbid this;
use someone else’s account, share your account, or create accounts to impersonate others;
use the Service to harm, harass or mislead anyone.
8. Your data and content
The information you enter — your answers, workout logs, measurements and notes — belongs to you. You give us a limited permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run and improve the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data.
You are responsible for the information you enter being accurate enough for the plan to make sense (for example your age, height, weight and injuries).
Challenges and proofs
Challenges are for people 16 and older; photo and video proofs (adding or viewing them, and joining a challenge that asks for them) are for people 18 and older. Before you start or join one you choose a public name: the name other members see instead of the name you sign in with. Do not use your sign-in name (the app refuses it), someone else’s name, a name that looks like BindTrue or its staff, or anything offensive. In a challenge, the other members see your public name, your entries and the photos or videos you add as proof; in an official challenge or the weekly challenge, those are the people in your league (details in the Privacy Policy). When you post in a challenge:
Post only photos and videos you took yourself or have the right to share, and keep them about the activity (for example you doing the push-ups, or a screenshot of your step count).
Do not post nudity or sexual content, violence, hate or harassment; people who have not agreed to be photographed or filmed (and never children); private information such as documents, addresses or other people’s screens; or anything illegal or that belongs to someone else.
Log what you really did. A challenge is for motivation: BindTrue itself does not run bets, prizes or payments between members. A stake is a friendly promise between members (such as “Loser buys coffee”); the app refuses stakes about money, and BindTrue is not part of any promise members make. Points and badges have no cash value and can’t be exchanged or transferred.
Prizes. The person who starts a challenge may offer a prize for the winner (for example a team lunch, an item or a gift card, or a surprise) with a name, a note and a photo. The prize is entirely the organizer’s responsibility: they choose it, pay for it and hand it over themselves. BindTrue doesn’t provide, pay for, deliver or guarantee prizes, never handles gift cards or money for them, and isn’t a party to any promise about them. No purchase or payment is ever needed to join a challenge or to win: no entry fees, bets, buy-ins or raffles. Prizes and their photos must be legal and appropriate; the automatic check and our admins may hide or remove a prize, its photo or the challenge.
An automatic check looks at every proof photo (and a still frame of every proof video) before others see it. If it flags a proof, the entry stays hidden and doesn’t count until our admins have looked at it; they may show it again or remove it. The check can be wrong in both directions: reports and our admins still apply.
You keep the rights to your photos and videos. You give the other members of that challenge permission to view them inside BindTrue, and us permission to store them and show them to those members, only for as long as we keep them (see the Privacy Policy). We do not use them for anything else, such as advertising.
The person who started a challenge is responsible for the group: they can hide entries, remove members (who then can’t join that challenge again), end or delete the challenge. Any member can report an entry with the Report button: our admins review reports and may remove the entry and its photo or video, delete the challenge, or take action on accounts that break these Terms. Report only in good faith. You can also write to [SUPPORT EMAIL].
Section 5 applies here too: do what is safe for you, and stop if something hurts, whatever the group’s goal is.
Programs you create and share
You can build a workout program from our exercise library and keep it private, share a link to it (anyone with the link can see it and start it) or publish it for everyone in the app’s Community. Before you share or publish a program you choose a public name; other people see it as the author, never your sign-in name.
It stays yours. You keep the rights to what you write. When you share or publish a program, you give BindTrue a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store it, show it in the Service with your public name as its author, and copy it into the plan of anyone who starts it. You can make it private or delete it at any time; the permission then ends, except for the copies people already started, which stay their plans.
You are responsible for your program. Write only your own words and make it honest and safe: no copying other people’s programs, texts, photos or videos; no medical claims (such as treating or curing an illness or injury) and no promised results; no extreme diets, dehydration or advice to train through pain; no ads, links, personal information, hate, harassment or sexual content. Do not present a program as official, or as made or endorsed by a real person such as a celebrity, athlete or influencer, and do not use their name to sell it. Saying it is inspired by a training style or an era is fine.
Automatic checks and moderation. Before a program is listed for everyone, its text is checked automatically (a content filter and an AI safety review). A program that does not pass stays unlisted, you see the reasons and can change it and try again. The check can miss problems or be wrong; it is not a promise that a program is safe or suitable for you. Anyone who can see a program can report it or a review to us. Our admins may remove programs and reviews, or take action on accounts, that break these Terms.
Ratings and reviews. Only people who started a program can rate it (1 to 5 stars) and add a short review. Rate from your own experience: no fake reviews, and no rating your own programs. A review our moderators removed stays removed.
Programs by other users are not checked by coaches or doctors and are not medical advice. Section 5 applies: choose programs that fit your health, level and equipment, start lighter than written, and stop if something hurts. BindTrue does not make or endorse the programs its users create.
Profiles, feed and comments
The Feed lets you share your training with other people. Using it is optional, and what other people see is described in the Privacy Policy.
Your public profile shows your public name, a handle (such as @anna_k) and an optional short bio. Neither your public name nor your handle may be your sign-in name (the app refuses it), someone else’s name, a brand you do not own, or anything offensive or misleading. We may refuse a name or handle, and change one that breaks these rules.
Your posts: finished workouts (the day, minutes, exercises, sets and new records), weekly streak milestones and posts from other BindTrue features appear on your feed for the people you choose in Edit profile: every BindTrue member, your followers, or only you. You can change who sees each post, add a note, or hide it at any time; body-weight changes appear only if you turn that on.
Follows are open: anyone signed in can follow you and then sees what you share with followers. You can remove a follower or block someone: blocked people and you no longer see each other’s profiles, posts or comments, and neither of you follows the other.
Kudos and comments: keep them kind and about training. No harassment, bullying, hate, sexual content, threats, spam or advertising, and no private information about anyone. Comments, notes, bios and names may be checked automatically when you post them (see the Privacy Policy); something the check flags stays hidden, visible only to you, until our team reviews it. You can delete your own comments, and comments on your own posts.
Reports: anyone can report a comment, a post or a profile. Our admins review reports and may remove the content, reset a public name, handle or bio, or take action on accounts that break these Terms. Report only in good faith.
Your rights: you keep the rights to what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it inside BindTrue to the people you chose, only as long as it is on BindTrue. We do not use it for advertising, and profiles and posts are not published as public web pages for search engines.
A weekly streak is for motivation only: there are no prizes, bets or payments.
Ideas and Help
The ideas board. You can suggest ideas for BindTrue and vote for other people’s ideas (one vote per idea). Everyone signed in sees your idea, its votes and your public name (details in the Privacy Policy). When you post an idea:
Keep it about BindTrue. No links, no personal information about you or anyone else, and nothing the content rules above forbid.
An automatic check and an AI read every idea: they may hold it for a person to review, sum it up, sort it, or merge it into an earlier idea that asks for the same thing (its votes then count there). Our admins may edit summaries, decline, hide or remove ideas, and change their status.
Votes and statuses are not promises. “Planned” means we intend to build it, not that we will, or when. Ideas that touch payments, legal matters, privacy or personal data, security, messages to people or deleting data are always decided by the owner.
Ideas are free feedback: you let us use, change and build on your idea, alone or with others, without paying you or naming you. You keep any rights you have in your own words.
Help and support. Help answers questions about using BindTrue with AI, from our help pages. It can be wrong, it cannot see or change your account, and it never decides anything about payments, refunds, charges, your account or legal matters — only the owner can, through a request you send with Contact support. The owner’s answer appears in Help; we do not answer by email. Please do not use support requests to harass anyone or to share other people’s information.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, logo, exercise illustrations, animations, photos, program library and texts — belongs to BindTrue or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial fitness purposes while these Terms apply. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on and links to services run by others, such as Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and AI) and YouTube (technique videos). Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
11. Ending your use of BindTrue
You can stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account in Profile → Delete account (your PIN is required). Deleting your account permanently deletes your data from our live database and also ends your subscription, so you will not be charged again. To be safe, you can first cancel in Profile → Subscription.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if needed to prevent fraud or harm, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
If we close your account without a good reason under these Terms, or we shut down the Service, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription.
Sections that by their nature should continue after the end of these Terms (for example 5, 6, 12–15 and 17) continue to apply.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that it will achieve any specific fitness, weight or health result.
Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BindTrue and its owners, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law does not allow it to be limited.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that we face because of a claim by someone else arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live.
Let’s talk first. Most problems can be solved quickly. Before starting any legal claim, please email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with a short description, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
If we cannot resolve it, either of us may bring a claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction, or otherwise in the state or federal courts located in [STATE], and both of us agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. [Arbitration and class-action terms to be decided with counsel.]
16. Changes
We may update these Terms as the Service grows or laws change. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect (30 days for changes to prices, see section 4.9). The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
17. General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
If we do not enforce a right right away, we do not give it up.
You may not transfer these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service, and we will tell you if that happens.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
We may send you notices in the app or, if you gave one at checkout, by email.
